School of Applied Sciences Confers Excellence Award on Kogi Poly Rector
The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman has again been presented with an award of excellence by the Polytechnic’s School of Applied Sciences for his outstanding contributions to the advancement of Education and service to humanity.
The Dean, School of Applied Sciences, Mr. Sampson Sunday Ikusika who led the members of staff of the School to the Rector’s office on Wednesday 25th May, 2022 presented the award which he said was due to the recognition of Dr. Usman’s meritorious and selfless service to the advancement of the School.
Dr. Makolo Daniel who is the Head, Department of Science Laboratory Technology, also presented a special gift to the Rector on behalf of the Department for his immense contributions towards the department’s successful Accreditation exercise.
He added that the Polytechnic has witnessed conspicuous developmental evolution under his watch and as such, cannot be taken for granted.
The Rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended the Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments for their active participation in the smooth running of the institution.
He specially commended the Dean, School of Applied Sciences for showing commitment, dedication, excellence and exemplary leadership in the discharge of his duties and pledged continuous support to the School.
He also commended the HOD of SLT, Dr. Makolo for demonstrating high level of productivity since he assumed the position of HOD, adding that he was impressed by his commitment.
The Deputy Rector, Dr. Kehinde Felix Lamidi and a Chief Lecturer in the School of Applied Sciences, Mr. Innah Peter Ebiloma, who spoke in turns, urged members of staff to be selfless and contribute their beats accordingly while discharging their duties.
They added that the developmental strides in the institution cannot be concealed and prayed for more wisdom and strength for the Rector and his management team to do more.
The highlights of the event was the presentation of souvenir by the Rector to the School of Applied Sciences.
All Principal Officers of the Polytechnic and the senior members of staff of the School of Applied Sciences were in attendance.
