Security Agencies in Kogi Nab 2 Suspects in Murder of Former Councilor, Suleiman Mohammed “Person”

In a significant breakthrough, security agencies have arrested two principal suspects in connection with the murder of Hon. Suleiman Mohammed, a former councilor of Odu Ward 1 in Dekina Local Government Area. The tragic incident, which occurred on July 31, shocked the local community and prompted swift action from the Kogi State Government.

Hon. Suleiman Mohammed, popularly known as “Person,” was brutally murdered by unknown assailants on his way home. In response to the heinous crime, the Kogi State Government immediately directed security agencies to launch a thorough investigation and ensure the perpetrators were brought to justice.

Following extensive investigations, the first suspect, identified as Akwu Abdullahi from Odu Ofogo in Dekina Local Government Area, was apprehended in Lokoja. During interrogation, Abdullahi provided crucial information that led to the arrest of the second suspect, Ademu Arome, also known as “Lucky” from Odu Ogboyaga, who was later captured in Abuja.

The swift and coordinated efforts of the Kogi State government under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the security agencies have been widely praised by the public for their prompt action and commitment to ensuring that justice is served.

Governor Ododo, on several occasions have reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on crime and assured the people of Kogi State that every effort will be made to maintain law and order.

The arrests have brought a sense of relief to the residents of Odu Ward 1 and the entire Dekina Local Government Area, who have been on edge since the murder of Hon. Suleiman Mohammed whom many described as easygoing. Community leaders and residents alike have expressed their gratitude to the state government and security agencies for their relentless pursuit of justice.

The Kogi State Government has also urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing any information that could assist in the fight against crime in the state.
