Sen. Isah Jibrin Begins Moves to Build New Classroom Blocks in Oguma, Alloma
Plans are underway for the construction of two new blocks of six classrooms each in Government Secondary School, Oguma, and Government Secondary School, Alloma, following fresh intervention efforts by the lawmaker representing Kogi East, Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho).
A team of engineers, acting on the senator’s directive, visited GSS Oguma earlier in the week to carry out a site confirmation for the project. The school, which has suffered years of deterioration, is set to receive a new classroom block to be located behind the laboratory hall. Contractors have already been engaged through the Federal Cooperative College, Ibadan, to ensure timely commencement and completion.
The inspection team was received by the school principal, Mr. Malakai Sekpe, alongside the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Bassa LGA, Hon. Maigida Emmanuel, and other stakeholders who welcomed the initiative as a crucial step toward improving learning conditions.
A similar exercise was conducted at Government Secondary School, Alloma in Ofu Local Government Area, where a site was confirmed for another six-classroom block. The Executive Chairman of Ofu LGA, Hon. Muhammed Lawal, was present during the visit, affirming the local government’s support.
Construction on both projects is expected to begin in the coming weeks. Senator Jibrin’s office assured that updates will be provided as work progresses to keep the public informed about the impact of the ongoing educational infrastructure efforts.
