”Show Concern for Success of Current Administration”, Kogi Deputy Gov Urges Christian Community

The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, has encouraged Christians in the state to continue to give maximum support to the success of the present administration in the state.

Deputy Governor Joel Salifu made the appeal today during a meeting with the Executives of ‘Concern Christian Brothers and Sisters’ at his office in Lokoja. He emphasized that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is a divine blessing for leading the state towards its promised land, urging the group to intensify their prayers and supplications for peace in the state and for the success of the government.

He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his Christ-like attributes and urged the group to unite as a strong force to support the governor in ensuring good governance and overall development.

The Deputy Governor disclosed that the governor has graciously approved the recommendations of the minimum wage committee, along with the consequential adjustment of salaries for civil servants and pensioners in the state. Additionally, an extra 10,000 Naira has been allocated to pensioners, highlighting the governor’s commitment to further putting smiles on the faces of the people.

As one of the founding members of the group, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu explained that the group was established due to the shared characteristics and mindset of its members over the past decade, with a 7-point agenda outlining its goals. He stated that most of the group’s desires and aspirations have been fulfilled, urging them to focus not only on the welfare of their members but also on the progress of the state under Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

He encouraged the group to shift their perspective on politics being a dirty game, and to actively engage in political activities to influence decisions that impact their lives.

He emphasized that individuals should not merely criticize government policies from a distance but should actively participate in the decision-making process.

In his opening remarks, the leader of the delegation, Elder Akoh Ogaji Enape, mentioned that they had come for a courtesy visit and to join the Deputy Governor in prayer for divine guidance and strength in his office.

He expressed gratitude for the Deputy Governor’s active participation as one of the founding members of the group, acknowledging God’s trust in the group by entrusting them with the Deputy Governor’s position.

Similarly, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Elder Noah Idakwo, affirmed their unwavering support for the Deputy Governor, emphasizing their dedication to supporting him in achieving the success of his boss.

He noted that the overwhelming victory in the recent election is a testament to the governor’s commendable work and the strong foundation they have built.

Mrs. Degeli pledged the women’s support in the group towards the success of the current administration.

Elder Monday Isah and Reverend Agbenyo offered prayers for the governor and the Deputy Governor, praying for God’s protection and guidance for them to continue leading the state in the right direction.
