Super Eagles Legends Congratulate Tinubu at 71, Praise Faleke for Standing by President-Elect

The Super Eagles Legends, made up of some of the best players to have played for the Nigerian National football team, have joined millions of Nigerians to congratulate President-Elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his 71st birthday anniversary.

In a statement released to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Tuesday, the National Coordinator and Convener of the Super Eagles Legend National Campaign Tour for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Project 2023, Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi, along with his colleague Miss Sylvia Iwong Ugi, extended their best wishes to the senator on this auspicious occasion, and Praised the Member Representing Ikeja Federal Constituency of lagos State/ Secretary APC Presidential Campaign Council Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for total Comitment for the Success recorded for the Tinubu Presidential Project 2023.

The Legends, who were led by former Super Eagles captain Austin Jay Jay Okocha, remembered with joy the activities of Asiwaju’s 70th birthday in Lagos in March 2022. The event, which included a world press conference describing the sterling qualities of the man Asiwaju, was followed by a courtesy call at his Bourdilon residence where members of the Legends interacted with Asiwaju before urging and endorsing him to run for the number one seat in Nigeria.

The Super Eagles Legends programme culminated in a National Novelty Football Match at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos, which featured Team Super Eagles Legends vs. Lagos All-Star. The match was a celebration of the rich football history of Nigeria and the Super Eagles team, which has brought so much joy and pride to the country over the years.

The Super Eagles Legends made up of world stars such as Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, Peter Rufai, Kanu Nwankwo, Ike Shorunmu, Mutiu Adekpoju, Victor Agali, Ifeanyi Udeze, Julius Aghahowa, Uche Okechukwu, Tijani Babangida, Garba Lawal, Joseph Dosu, and other notable players, declared their support for Tinubu to run for President during the interactive session. One-time world-best defender Taribo West engaged Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in special prayers that went viral, and today, all that Taribo asked for has manifested in the lifeTinubu and Nigeria.

Co-convener of the Super Eagles Legends, Miss Sylvia Iwong Ugi, also congratulated Tinubu on the occasion of his 71st birthday and prayed that God Almighty would grant him all he needs to pilot the affairs of Nigeria to a greater heights.

The Super Eagle’s legends Campaign team for Tinubu/ Shettima after declaring Support for Tinubu, toured the entire country to Campaign for Tinubu, with a Kick of at the Prestigious Sani Abacha Stadium Kano on 10th December 2022.

Dr. Hassan also congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for Defeating Guinea-Bissau with a lone goal away from home on Monday after losing to the same side Friday last week in a AFCON qualifiers.

Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman advised the national team players to learn from the Legends and show Comitment, Patrotism, and determination to National duties.

Dr. Hassan advised the NFF to look inward in National team coach appointments, that the likes of Late Steven Keshi, late Shaibu Amodu, Austin Egeavon, Daniel Amokachi etc have proved to be better than some of the Foreign coaches.

Hassan urged the New NFF Leadership under Alhaji Gusau to give our Local Coaches a chance to prove their worth at the National team Super Eagles coaching job.

He further concluded by urging the Super Eagles players to be more tactical and discipline while playing, that the likes of Victor Ikpeba, Daniel Amokachi, Austine Okocha, Finding George etc played with total Comitment and made Nigeria and Africa very proud on the Global Stage.
