Suspects In Police Net For Burgling Fertilizer Ware House In Kogi
No fewer than six robbery suspects who burgled the Kogi State Agricultural Development Project (KSADP), ware house in Felele, Lokoja are now at the police headquarters, Lokoja to answer questions on their role in the incident.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command in the state, DSP Williams Aya, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the correspondent of The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday.
He said the command had also recovered some of the stolen fertilizer and other agrochemical products by the suspects, adding that efforts were on to apprehend the others alleged robbers.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspects, said to have stormed the ware house in tricycles and machines, carted away unspecified quantities of fertilizer meant for farmers for dry season agricultural activities through out the state.
Meanwhile, our correspondent who visited the popular Ganaja junction in the state capital on Monday at about 9.30 a.m noticed a frenzy atmosphere during which many people were seen scampering for safety to various destinations while gunshots were heard.
The reason behind the uneasy calm at the junction could not be ascertained as at the time of this report.
