SWS celebrates Nigeria at 62
The National President of Standup for Women Society, Barrister Deborah Ijadele-Adetona has used the occasion of today, 1st October to celebrate the founding fathers who in their wisdom fought for the liberation of our dear country, Nigeria.
She celebrates the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari saying he has done well in recent times by ordering the silence of the activities of Terrorists in the country.
President Buhari has also promised not to interfere in the coming election which means if we all love Nigeria to remain as one united people in a country that has hundreds of different people with diverse cultures and languages, we must begin to do things right by beginning with you by avoiding sentiment, religious bigotry, nepotism and tribalism so that we can join our President to move Nigeria to the promised land where people treat one another with love and unity of purpose to make Nigeria great among nations.
In a press statement made available to journalists by the SWS National Public Relations Officer, Billie Nwogu, the President says, Nigeria may not be where we want it to be but surely not where we used to be.
Barrister Deborah says, Nigeria as a country is still a developing country faced with many challenges since the independence, and as a people, we have fought and defeated the era of the military regime. And today, we are enjoying uninterrupted democracy and we will continue to appreciate the unity of purpose to allow democracy to reign.
In this world, nations have been confronted with tribulations and still confronting all kinds of tribulations and in our country, we are not left out, we are still battling terrorism, banditry, and inflation but we thank God, we are still standing as a country.
“It is my prayer to God that all these challenges will be over and Nigeria will continue to excel and flourish as a country in peace and unity.”
As an association that stands for the liberation of women, and to build a better society, we will use this medium to call on women to join hands together to build the Nigeria of our dream hence calling you all to come out, especially those between the ages 18 and above to vote to elect leaders with credence, pure purpose-driven capacity to lead Nigeria for another four years in the coming 2023 general elections.
“Know that if you refused to come out to exercise your franchise to vote for leaders you know will take us to another level of prosperity, wealth creation, infrastructure development, quality health care delivery, Gender Equality, efficient and effective education system, uninterrupted power supply, and many good things in this country, you will not only live to regret it, your children and generations to come will suffer it because when good people do nothing, the bad once will take the centre stage” As women, do not give the bad leaders chance to rule us”
The StandUp for women Society (SWS) is a non-governmental profit-making governmental organisation, we stand to support women to become better people in society, and we also promote good governance, government and individuals who work with women to make Nigeria better.
We have chapters in all the thirty-six states in Nigeria including the FCT. We call on relevant stakeholders to partner with us to build a greater and flourishing Nigeria together.
In conclusion, let all religions’ leaders, individuals, and corporate bodies begin and continue to pray for Nigeria to be greater in all good things because we have no other country, we can call our own.
God bless Nigeria
God bless the President
God bless the people
