Tribunal Judgment: Your victory is well deserved – COS, Asuku to Gov. Bello
Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Pharm Abdulkareem Jamiu has affirmed that the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello on Saturday at the tribunal was well deserved and a confirmation of the wishes of the people of the State.
This was made known in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ozigi Mujahid Abubakar.
He noted that it was quite clear from the onset that the petition lacked merit but seeing the process through was good for democracy.
He commended the panel members for a thorough job and hard work which reflected in their historic judgment while he enjoined the opposition parties to work with Governor Yahaya Bello led New Direction government in his mission to take the state to the let do more of greatness.
The COS added that the victories were testimonies to the transparent, credible, democratic, free and fair electoral process that produced Gov. Bello for the second term in office.
He noted that all lovers of democracy must salute the resilience of the judiciary in deepening the country’s democracy through sound and lucid judgments and for putting truth and justice ahead of any other matter in carrying out their professional responsibilities.
The Governor’s top aide pointed out that the ruling of tribunal has shown that all hope was not lost about this country, as the judiciary continues to show that its the last hope of the people and victory for democracy and affirmation of the supremacy of the sanctity of the ballot.
He stressed that, Saturday’s judgment has reinforced the hope of the opposition that there are still men and women on the bench who, even in the face of rampage to destroy the judiciary, can still stand firm and do the right thing.
The Chief of staff also extended his congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the victory asserting that such issues showed the party has come of age in party politics and in putting forward the best hands that could and would take Kogi state to greater heights through the fulfillment of its manifestos and support for government policies by affirming the Governor’s second term election victory.
Pharm. Abdulkareem concluded that the judgment truly reflected the hopes, aspirations of the majority as it was a victory for the people.
