Tribunal Verdict: Ododo’s Victory Affirms Kogi Agenda of Peace, Unity, Progress – Rector NKFI

…congratulate Governor Ododo, Comrade Oyibo, urge SDP candidate to shelve Appeal idea.

Following the reports that the Kogi state Governorship election petition tribunal court sitting in Abuja has upheld the victory of Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Oyibo, the Rector, Nigeria-korea friendship institute, Williams Charles Oluwatoyin have expressed that the incumbent’s victory was an affirmation that Kogi Agenda of Unity, peace and progress.

The Rector in a personally signed congratulatory message on Monday said that the Judiciary have re-affirmed the popularly elected mandate of Alhaji Usman Ododo and as such uphold the tenants of democracy.

He said “I wish to extend our congratulations on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Academic Board, Staff, and students of the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute to His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and his Deputy, Comrade Joel Salifu Oyibo on the affirmation of their victory at the Kogi state Governorship election petition tribunal in Abuja. This victory is yet a pointer to the victory you enjoyed at the November 11 gubernatorial elections and an attestation of your acceptance by the people of the state”.

The Rector asserted that the Kogi state governor who have indeed started on a strong footing of consolidation would further continue to deliver on the dividends of democracy to the people of the state which has been the tone set by his administration since its emergence. He added that the news of his victory at the tribunal have been received with wild jubilation across the state owing to his people first leadership approach.

While he expressed gratitude to God over the victory of governor Ododo, he prayed for God to continue to strengthen the governor’s resolve to lead the state to greater heights and grant him the wisdom and good health to be able to achieve his desired goal for the state and the people.

He however urged the Social Democratic Party’s candidate, Muritala Ajaka to accept the tribunal verdict and shelf the idea of wasting resources pursuing an already failed cause noting that he should rather join hands with the Governor to contribute his quota to the development of the state and its people.
