Tribute to Chief Patrick Adaba, Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State

With deep sorrow and a profound sense of loss, I mourn the passing of Chief Patrick Adaba, former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, who departed this world yesterday after a brief illness.

Chief Adaba was more than a leader; he was a pillar of his community, a statesman whose contributions to the growth and development of Kogi State remain indelible. As the oldest surviving Deputy Governor of the state, he was a custodian of wisdom and experience, a man whose counsel and leadership inspired many.

Beyond his public service, Chief Patrick Adaba was a jovial and sociable man, always full of warmth and laughter. He had a rare ability to connect with people, bringing joy to those around him.

His passing comes on the heels of the death of his older brother, Dr. Tom Adaba, who was interred just days ago. This is an especially painful moment for the Adaba family and all who held them dear.

His departure is not just a loss to his family but to Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole. We pray that the Almighty grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family, friends, and all who knew him the strength to bear this great loss.

At this time, I commiserate with his nuclear and extended family, as well as the government and people of Kogi State, on this irreplaceable loss. May his legacy of integrity, service, and leadership continue to inspire generations to come.

Signed:
Yomi Awoniyi
Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State
