UN praises Gov Bello for pushing global agenda on women political participation, gender equality
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has again received commendations over his adminstrative styles that favours women inclusiveness in governance.
The latest commendation which is coming on the heals of the award from the National Council for Women Society, is from the United Nation.
This was revealed in a letter by Ms. Comfort Lamptey, the UN Women Representative To Nigeria and ECOWAS, and release to newsmen by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo.
The letter reads apart;
“His Excellency, Executive Governor of Kogi State,

“On behalf of UN Women, I would ike to take this opportunity to commend you for recently positioning your state to harness the contributions of women at the local level, where government is closest to the people.
“This significant move also affords the appointed women the opportunity to gain governance skills at the local level while preparing them to occupy higher offices in the future.
“I would further like to thank you for pushing forward the global agenda on gender equality and women’s political participation in Nigeria.
In this same vein, I would be honoured to pay you a courtesy visit on the week beginningand also to explore possibilities for partnership and collaboration to support the newly appointed women deputy LGA chairpersons to succeed in their new roles.
