“We Will Prioritize Clean, healthy Environment in Okehi” – Hon. Amoka
The Okehi Local Government Area Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Monday Amoka Eneji ( Odu) says the prevailing situation of the country will not prevent it from prioritising qualitative healthcare for residents of the Local Government , towards achieving universal health coverage as maintained by the Governor of Kogi state, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The Okehi LGA Secretary, Hon. Matthew James Omeiza, made this known in Obangede, while playing host to delegates from RUWASSA and Federal ministry of Water resources on behalf of the Caretaker Chairman,saying Kogi state Government Under Ahmed Usman Ododo had continually strengthened its health system through the provision of standard infrastructure, equipment and qualified personnel.
Hon. Amoka ODU stated that the state government’s Health Insurance Scheme was one of the ways to increase accessibility to healthcare in tertiary, secondary and primary levels, acknowledging the significance of collaborations and partnerships in the delivery of efficient healthcare services.
He appreciated PEEWASH Programme implementation on hygiene and hand washing / Health Education for partnering the state government Agency RUWASSA on various interventions to stem spread of cholera and other diseases that can easily be transmitted by hands.
He Promise to revive proper sanitation programs at the Grassroot in order to keep the local government clean and healthy for the people at all time.
Also Speaking at the Hand washing Training Program, The Chief of staff to the Local Government Caretaker Chairman , Hon. Ibrahim Onota Natty, noted that collaborations with development partners in the health sector had enabled prompt response to health emergencies and delivery of quality care to the people, lauding them for their support.
On her part, Head of RUWASSA Team to the Local Government, Mrs Momoh Latifat, said RUWASSA with Okehi LGA is one of the three beneficiaries LGA in the State for this program in the state.
He called on the state government to ensure continuous investments in the health sector, while also integrate health services at the local government level for the benefit of the people, particularly those in the rural areas, promising continued support to the Agency, towards ensuring best health outcomes.
