Wife of Kogi AG rally support for Ododo, empowers women, youths in Okene

Wife of Kogi State Accountant General, Hajiya Hanatu Jibrin has put smiles on the faces of 1000 women and youths beneficiaries in Okene local government area of Kogi state when she empowered them with cash, and other relief materials such wrappers, bags of rice and other foodstuff.

InsideStory reports that similar empowerment by Hajiya Hanatu was carried out in other local government areas of the state.

The Okene empowerment event which took place at Obehira on Wednesday 8th November was attended by the House of Assembly member representing Okene II, Hon. Zakari Omeve; Special Adviser to the Governor on food security, Hon. Mohammed Jonah; APC ward chairmen, women and youths leaders along with other government officials and party members.

Hajia Hanatu in her remark said her visit was to appreciate women across the 11 wards in Okene for their support for the government of governor Yahaya Bello in which her husband serves as the Accountant General. She hailed their commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their support for the party’s candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo.

Hajiya Hanatu described the humanitarian effort as an intervention made to cushion the hard times faced by Nigerians occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy.

While commending the state government for doing all it can to mitigate the effects of the subsidy removal on parents, especially the recent declaration of free education in the state, Hanatu stressed that Kogi Central senatorial district is enjoying it own fair share of the dividends of democracy provided by the New Direction government across the state, adding that Governor Bello’s legacy of unity, peace, human and infrastructure development deserves to be sustained.

She urged the people of the area to deliver massive votes for the APC candidate, Ododo on November 11, as he is the only candidate committed to consolidating on the achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello.

On his part, the House of Assembly member representing Okene II constituency, Hon. Zakari Omeve, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for making the state’s resources work for the people, noting that the infrastructure projects undertaken by Bello’s administration were unprecedented in the history of the state.

He said his constituency had enjoyed dividends of democracy since the beginning of the APC administration in the state, stressing that they consider it a responsibility to support Ododo for consolidation.

He hailed the wife of the Accountant General for her kind gesture, and also praised Alhaji Jibrin Momoh for being a worthy leader.

In their separate remarks, some of the beneficiaries, Salamat Abdullahi and Abbas Taofeeq who spoke on behalf of others, expresses their joy and appreciation to the Accountant General’s wife and her husband for the gesture, while urging the beneficiaries to ensure that they turn up en-masse to cast their votes for the APC candidate on November 11.
