Yagba, Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu Youths Commend Governor Ododo’s Performance

Youths across Yagba and Kabba/Bunu–Ijumu Federal Constituencies have lauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what they described as steady and impactful governance since assuming office.

They made this known during the ongoing Kogi Youth Townhall Meeting organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, which has moved to the Kogi West Senatorial District and so far covered Yagba West, Yagba East, Mopamuro, Kabba/Bunu, and Ijumu Local Government Areas.

In Yagba Federal Constituency, youths commended the Governor for his infrastructural development drive, citing road construction, upgrade of primary healthcare centres, provision of electricity transformers, and payment of salaries and pensions as key achievements. They also noted the administration’s support for students through bursary awards and the payment of WAEC and NECO fees.

Participants praised Governor Ododo for advancing youth and women inclusion in governance but called for intensified action in tackling insecurity, particularly kidnapping. They also urged for greater cooperation among political appointees to consolidate development gains.

Similarly, during engagements in Kabba/Bunu and Ijumu LGAs, youths hailed the Governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of Kogi people. They commended his decision to appoint young people into strategic government positions and his support for local government administrations in enhancing security.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, who led the government delegation, expressed appreciation for the positive feedback and constructive suggestions. He assured that all inputs from the youth engagements would be compiled and presented to the Governor for policy consideration.

Hon. Anyebe reiterated the Ododo administration’s commitment to delivering dividends of democracy across all parts of the state, with special focus on youth empowerment, security, infrastructure, education, and economic growth.

The Kogi Youth Townhall Meeting continues its tour across the state, providing young people with an avenue to engage directly with government officials, share their views, and influence policy direction.
