Yahaya Bello Disowns APC Chairmanship Posters in Abuja

The former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has disclaimed reports and posters suggesting his interest in contesting for the national chairmanship of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the move as another ploy by “mischief makers” to cause unnecessary distraction.
In a press statement signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of the Yahaya Bello Media Office, the former governor distanced himself from the circulation of campaign posters bearing his image and allegedly promoting his ambition for the APC top seat. The posters were said to have surfaced in parts of the Federal Capital Territory in recent days.
According to the statement, Yahaya Bello remains a loyal and committed member of the ruling party and holds deep respect for the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It emphasized that Bello has not authorised anyone, either directly or indirectly, to print or paste any poster on his behalf.
“Those close to the former governor are fully aware that nothing of such could have emanated from him, especially when there are clearly laid down guidelines within the party,” the media office stated.
The release also noted that this is not the first time detractors would attempt to exploit Yahaya Bello’s name and image for their own agenda, accusing them of being on a “bring-him-down-at-all-costs” mission.
The media office warned the public to disregard the posters and remain vigilant against the activities of “frustrated mischief makers.”
