Yahaya Bello Media Office Denounces Viral Post on Alleged 2027 Presidential Ambition

The media office of the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has dismissed a viral social media post suggesting that Bello recently held a rally in support of a 2027 presidential bid.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Ohiare Michael, Director of the Yahaya Bello Media Office, the post was described as a recycled video from a 2022 rally, which is now being circulated by “confused and witless detractors” in a bid to mislead the public.

The statement accused unnamed bloggers and political opponents of orchestrating the move to pit the former governor against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the tactic as part of a long-standing campaign of falsehood against Bello.

“This latest slant of reposting a 2022 rally afresh and insinuating that it is just happening connotes nothing but insanity,” the statement read.

It further clarified that the rally being referenced clearly displayed banners dated 2022 and urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading narrative.

The media office emphasized that Yahaya Bello has no interest in contesting for the presidency in 2027, reaffirming his loyalty and commitment to President Tinubu’s re-election.

“The President and his team have done exceedingly well for the country despite global challenges. On merit, he deserves the support of well-meaning Nigerians,” it added.

The statement urged the public to ignore the viral post, describing it as the handiwork of frustrated individuals bent on sowing discord.
