Youth Assembly of Nigeria Pays Courtesy Visit to Kogi Commissioner, Passes Vote of Confidence on Governor Ododo

The Kogi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Monday Aridaojo Anyebe, on Tuesday received in audience the Executives and some members of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), led by the National Ambassador, Obaje Mustapha, and the Speaker, Ambassador Bologi Mohammad Yaba.
The courtesy visit, held at the Commissioner’s office in Lokoja, was marked by warmth, camaraderie, and a strong show of support for the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
In their remarks, the YAN National Ambassador, Obaje Mustapha applauded the Commissioner for his commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive leadership since his assumption of office. He noted that the Commissioner has displayed competence in handling youth affairs in the state, stressing that the governor made the right choice in Hon. Monday Anyebe.
In a symbolic gesture, the Assembly passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ododo, commending his youth-friendly policies and proactive governance which they said have continued to create opportunities for young people across the state.


Comrade Obaje Mustapha, speaking on behalf of the delegation, described the governor as a beacon of progressive leadership and expressed optimism about the future of youth development under the current administration. He noted that Governor Ododo’s strides in education, infrastructure and economic empowerment have not gone unnoticed.
Stressing the Commissioner’s outstanding dedication, the Youth Assembly also conferred on Honourable Monday Anyebe the ‘Icon of Hope‘ award, recognizing his inspirational leadership and consistent advocacy for youth inclusion in governance.
In his response, Commissioner Anyebe expressed appreciation for the recognition and reiterated the commitment of the Ministry to work in synergy with youth groups and stakeholders to harness the full potential of young people in the state. He thanked Governor Ododo for providing the enabling environment and leadership support that has allowed youth-focused initiatives to thrive.
“We remain committed to building a Kogi State where young people are not just beneficiaries but active participants in governance and development,” he said.
