Zonal Security Adviser, Ankpa Federal Axis, Facilitates Gov Ododo’s Community Security Public Awareness Engagement at Ogodu District, Omala LGA

The Zonal Security Adviser for Ankpa Federal Axis Rt Hon Ahmed Mohammad, as part of ongoing efforts to promote grassroots security and community involvement in governance has successfully moved the Governor Ododo Community Security and Public Awareness Engagement train to Ogodu District in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The strategic engagement, facilitated through the office of the Zonal Security Adviser, stresses the state’s commitment to proactive security measures and inclusive governance, especially in rural and high-risk areas.

Speaking during the well-attended event, the Zonal Security Adviser emphasized that the decision to bring the engagement initiative to Ogodu was based on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s directive to reach all corners of the state with his people-focused security and development agenda.

“This visit is a demonstration of the Governor’s resolve to take government to the grassroots, to listen to the people, and to ensure that no community is left behind in the ongoing transformation of Kogi State,” the Adviser said.

Representing the Governor, a high-powered delegation met with traditional rulers, youth representatives, women leaders, and other key stakeholders in Ogodu to deliberate on prevailing security concerns and identify community-based solutions. Key areas of concern included farmer-herder conflicts, theft, and the need for improved surveillance infrastructure.

In a message delivered on behalf of Governor Ododo, the team reiterated the administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting local security structures, including community vigilante groups, while also ensuring that youth empowerment and economic inclusion remain central to the state’s long-term peace strategy.

Local leaders and residents expressed their gratitude to the Governor and the Zonal Security Adviser for bringing the engagement to Ogodu. The District Head of Ogodu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Adaji, praised the initiative, describing it as “a bold and welcome move that connects the people directly with the seat of power.”

Chairman of Omala Local Government Area, Hon. Mark Edibo, also applauded the move, noting that it will further bridge the gap between the government and the governed, while also boosting intelligence gathering and security coordination in the area.

The Governor’s security and public awareness train is expected to continue its tour across other districts in the Ankpa Federal Axis in the coming weeks.
