Zonal Security Adviser Take Gov Ododo’s Security Public Awareness Engagement to Ogugu District

The Zonal Security Adviser for the Ankpa Federal Axis, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed has taken the train of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Community Security and Public Awareness Engagement Initiative to Ogugu District in Olamaboro Local Government Area.

The visit, which drew community leaders, youths, women groups, religious stakeholders, and members of the local vigilante corps, marks a strategic expansion of the ongoing security sensitization and collaboration drive across Kogi East.

Speaking during the engagement held at the Ogugu Town Hall, the Zonal Security Adviser, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed commended Governor Ododo’s proactive leadership in strengthening local security structures and bridging the communication gap between communities and government agencies.

“We are here to extend Governor Ododo’s vision of community-based security and awareness. Ogugu, like every other district in Kogi State, plays a critical role in our collective safety. This initiative is about empowering communities to take ownership of their security through vigilance, cooperation, and information sharing,” the Adviser stated.

Hon. Ahmed Mohammed further urged local vigilante units and traditional institutions to remain alert and collaborate closely with formal security agencies in intelligence gathering and early warning response systems.

The session featured an interactive forum where community members expressed their concerns and shared local intelligence, including reports on suspicious movements and criminal hideouts in border communities.

Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area, Hon. Ameh Williams, expressed gratitude to the state government for extending the initiative to the grassroots.

“This visit brings renewed hope to our people. The Ogugu district has long needed this kind of attention, and we are ready to play our part in ensuring security and peace in our communities,” he said.

Security experts and civil society organizations at the event praised the approach, describing it as a scalable model for community-based security management in Nigeria’s evolving security landscape.
