Section 14 (2b) of 1999 Nigeria Constitution as amended, states that: The welfare and security of the citizens shall be the primary purpose of the government. Thus government at all levels owes the people a constitutional duty to protect their lives and properties, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliations.

Once upon a time, Kogi was the Kidnap Capital Of Nigeria. From Lokoja- Ajaokuta, Lokoja – Okene,Obajana Junction- Kabba etc was a den of Kidnappers and Armed robbery ETC. Before GYB there is yearly incidence of Bank Robbery but was extinct by GYB. Today Kogi is adjudged the second safest state in Nigeria. The Vigilante strategy for community policing has helped a great deal. Over 10 awards on Security efforts and still counting.

GYB on assumption to office immediately haulted the endless killings of our people under whatever guise in Kogi, for without peace in the land, democracy or meaningful development cannot thrive. His outstanding meritocracy in security matters that defile National logic was celebrated worldwide with attendant National Security Innovative Awards granted to him.

He took decisive action to secure the lives and properties of Kogites, bearing in mind that failure to do so constitute a violation of the human rights to hIs EbIgO people.
He ensured justice for victims of violent killings across the state by unmasking the identity of the perpetrators of these heinous crimes against humanity and ensuring that the identified perpetrators are punished for these crimes.
Ensuring synergy amongst the various security heads to combat crime,criminals and criminality.

He ensured that Heads of Security Agencies and Intelligence Units are logistically equipped and held accountable for any singular act of complacency in violations of human rights and any lack of diligence in executing their duties.
With about – 5000 Vigilante hired by GYB to enhance community policing by
Leveraging on Technology, ICT and Intelligence gathering to effectively eradicate the clusters of criminal gangs and criminality.
