2023: Hon Halims Beats Egbita, Emerges APC Candidate For Ankpa Federal Constituency

The Chairman of the House Committee on Steel Development, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims has clinched the All Progressives Congress’ ticket as the party’s candidate for Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency.
Hon Halims, in a statement issued by his Coordinator of Information, Visual and Strategic Operations, Comrade Muhammed Nasiru, on Friday evening, the Federal Lawmaker beat Hon. Abel Egbita in a landslide to emerge winner.
Hon. Halims who is currently in his first term at the House of Representatives was the Honorable Member Representing Ankpa I State Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly between 2007 to 2011 and has continued to impact his people, positively, at every opportunity of service.
While announcing the results of the primary election which held at the Ankpa Local Government Governor’s Lodge, the APC returning officer, Hon. Muhammed Gambo Haruna, declared Hon. Halims as the winner with a total of one hundred and sixty three(163) votes out of the one hundred and sixty nine(169) accredited votes. Hon. Abel Egita scored zero(0) vote while six(6) votes were invalid.
In his acceptance, Hon. Halims thanked God and the people of Ankpa Federal Constituency for giving him the current opportunity of service which its multiplier effect brought about his highly rated reelection.
He equally thanked the Leader of the APC in Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello for and his Deputy, His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja for their roles in ensuring that the party remain strong and formidable in the State.
