…As Engr Andrew Onu Adama empty’s more PDP stakeholders and Members into the APC
Excited by the brighter prospects of the All Progressive Congress in Kogi state to record sweeping victories across the various categories of elections in 2023, a former house of assembly aspirant who is the Director General, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Presidential Campaign Council (ABAT-PCC), for Okura state Constituency of the APC, Engr Andrew Onu Adama, has pulled more members and stakeholders from the PDP in Okura Constituency into the Kogi APC family.
The decamping event which took place yesterday in Agbeji Ajikagbo in Ojikpadala ward of Okura state constituency, Dekina local government area saw elders, stakeholders and indigenes of Okura constituency, Ojikpadala ward in Anyigba receive decamped members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP into the APC. The event, however, reaffirmed the avowed loyalty and commitment of Engr Andrew Adama to the party ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Addressing stakeholders and members of the party in Okura Constituency particularly, Ojikpadala ward, Engr Andrew Adama noted that the people were gladdened by the continuous atrategic dividends of good governance and appointments from the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration to Dekina LGA, promising that the people of Okura Constituency and Ojikpadala ward, in particular, will reciprocate this by ensuring that the APC wins massively.
Engr Adama further noted that the gathering was convened with the sole purpose of receiving decamped members from the PDP and to also send a clear message to PDP in Anyigba and the entire lovers of progress and development in the state that Okura Constituency will, through their votes for the APC, write their names as those who contributed to installing the incoming administration of Tinubu as president of Nigeria, as well as Kogi East senator, Jibril Isah, house of Representatives Candidate, Haruna Gowon and Okura state assembly candidate.
Alhaji Ahiaba Atuluku, a former PDP chieftain, speaking on behalf of the PDP decamped members assured the APC that the defection will attract more PDP members to the APC. He noted that from the moment they had announced their decision to joining the party they had been welcomed and celebrated across the different strata of leadership and membership in the APC. “This warm welcome has emboldened us to begin mobilisation for the APC immediately.” he added.
In his remark, the Chairman of the APC in Ojikpadala ward, Hon Musa Shiabu, thanked the Chairman of Dekina LGA, Hon. Prince Islaiq Okolo, for providing leadership in the local government. He noted that as part of the policy of the present administration in the APC, the party will continue to keep an open door for all to come in and be a part of the making of history in 2023 electoral victory.
Hon Shiabu Speaking further, noted that the decamping of PDP members into the APC is significantly influenced by their son Engr Andrew Onu Adama who has been taking care of the less privileged and significantly transforming the lives of the people in Ojikpadala ward. He therefore assured the people that come 2023, Dekina local government, Okura Comstituncy particularly Ojikpadala ward will deliver 100% for the APC.
Receiving the new entrants, the Chairman of Dekina local government area, Hon. Prince Islaiq Okolo, welcomed the decamped PDP members and noted that the party’s leader in Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello is passionately committed to doing everything possible to deepen the APC’s taproot in the state and, of course, lead the party, together with millions of Kogites, to resounding victories in the 2023 elections. He urged every sons and daughters of the area to stand up and be a part of the historic journey.
Prince Ishaq noted that the that they treat their brothers and sisters who are back to the party is an indication of the importance they place on members. He assured that they would give the necessary support needed to mobilise for the party and ensure victory.
Highlight of the event witnessed the presentation of the APC flag and the symbol of the party to the new members of the party.
