2023: Nigerians in diaspora drums support for Gov Bello

Kogi State and her youthful Governor took over the international media space at the weekend as group of Nigerians in diaspora held a world press conference to mobilise support for the Presidential project of the Governor of Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Bello. The event which took place at 26a, Catford Broadway, London,
United Kingdom. SE6 4SN and joined from five other continents via zoom was adjudged by international journalists as young Nigerians revolutionary movement around the globe for youthful leadership in Nigeria.

Speakers after speakers from different part of the world and people of diverse origin from different part of the country delivered speeches and goodwill messages that indicates that Nigerian youths are fully ready to position one of them in person of Governor Yahaya Bello to lead Nigeria in 2021. The event was consummated as top officials of the Kogi State government led by the Chief of Staff to the Governor and members of the Kogi State House of Assembly led by the Speaker were also part of the epoch-making occasion. Among Kogi State government officials present are the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Honourable Commissioner for Information, Hon Kingsley Fanwo, Honourable Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon Bashir Gegu, Honourable Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon Orneal Ejigbo, Director-General, Research and Planning, Barr Okezie, Director-General Special Works, Hon Balogun, Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Students, Hon Jibril Oludare, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilisation, Hon Oshaloto and the facilitator and initiator of the project who doubles as the Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Political Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi.

While declaring the occasion opened in London, the International Convener, Bello Diaspora Support Movement, a British- Nigerian, Amb. Akinmosun Kolawole says the occasion is simply a Diaspora Support Movement for the actualisation of the Youth Presidential project as represented in Governor Yahaya Bello. Mr Akinmosun says Governor Yahaya Bello is the man rightly placed to reposition the nation on the path of progress and shared prosperity, he says their network is assiduously mobilising Nigerians across the globe to support Governor Yahaya Bello.

“Today’s event will go down in history as one that is about to birth a new Nigeria where ethnicity will be a thing of the past, where insecurity will be confronted with an uncompromising approach, where the youths and women will be at the driver’s seat of governance and national development and a nation where religion, tribe and creed never divides us but binds us forever, and I’m unequivocally saying it, that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state exemplifies all the aforementioned. I, therefore, wish to state on behalf of millions of Nigerians in diaspora that we will do our best to help our nation choose a President that will deliver”. Amb Akinmosun said

Mr Ibrahim Ahmed, Co-Convener representing the United Arab Emirates says it is time for the youth to lead Nigeria, he assured of his diplomatic and mobilisation movement which he says will bring Nigerians in the UAE to support the project. The Co-Convener from the United States of America, Mr Tolutope Dada says he is particularly in political mobilisation in Nigeria for the first time because of what Governor Yahaya Bello represents, he says he is available to deliver Nigerians in America to GYB like he did for President Joe Biden during the last US elections.

While delivering his welcome address, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharm Jamiu Abdulkareem Asuku, said Governor Yahaya Bello in the last five years have broken the wall of disunity, barnished religious bigotry in governance to the world of antiquity, restored youth participation in governance and confronting security challenges frontally, he congratulated the Bello Diaspora Support Movement for their foresight, patriotism and love for Nigeria, he thanked them for finding Governor Yahaya Bello worthy to lead Nigeria and promised to work closely with them to achieve their set objectives.

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Mathew Kolawole says the state assembly is pleased to see Nigerians in diaspora take the lead in the campaign for Governor Yahaya Bello, he said the state assembly is currently on consultative visits to other state Houses of assembly to seek support for the Bello Presidential project. He assured of his support and promised the support of the state legislators.

The Director-General Research and Planning to the Governor, Barr Okezie says Governor Yahaya Bello is a truly detribalise Nigerian who only sees competence and not tribe, performance and not religion and capacity and not sentiments. Barr Okezie says Governor is the true example of a President Nigeria needs in 2023, he commended the Bello Diaspora Support Movement for their thoughtfulness and readiness to lead the campaign at the international scene.

On his path the initiator and facilitator of the event and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi says Governor Bello has done outstandingly well in the four thematic areas that appears to be the greatest challenges of Nigeria, he says in Security, Governor Yahaya Bello has become a model for other Governors in Nigeria, in women and youth Inclusiveness, he said the Governor has made unprecedented achievement, he said in religious tolerance which is a huge national challenge, Governor Yahaya Bello have become a model and toast of the people, Omoluabi says another area of national challenge is in ethnic bigotry, he says the Governor have also demonstrated his disdain for it. Omoluabi challenged the public to score the Governor in these areas and see if he’s not the true leader the nation needs.
