Rivers APC suffers more defections to PDP
MORE members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.
The defectors, who were mainly from Asari-Toru, Degema, Ahoada East, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Obio/Akpor, Port Harcourt, Omuma and Khana areas of the state, were received into the PDP at a ceremony in Port Harcourt yesterday.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Chimenem Wodi of the APC Social Media Team and Engr. Chidi Anunam from Omuma both described the APC as a sinking boat, noting that they left the party because it lacked direction and leadership.
They said that they were attracted to the PDP because of the inclusive leadership style of state Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike.
A front line politician in the state, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh, who received the defectors, thanked them “for seeing the light and embracing the PDP.”
He likened those who are still members of the APC to people who are crossing a river without first taking the pains to know the depth.
Emeh commended Governor Wike for his developmental strides and inclusive leadership, calling on Rivers people to remain peaceful and join hands with him to take the state to greater heights.
