APC presidential primary election holds September 29


…fixes June 30 for convention to replace Oyegun

The ruling All Progressives Congress’ (APC) primary election to produce its presidential candidate for the 2019 general elections would hold on September 29th, 2018, a timetable released by the national secretariat read.

Sequel to the rejection of the one year tenure elongation for the incumbent National Chairman of the APC by President Muhammadu Buhari, the party also fixed June 30th for its National Convention to look for Chief John Oyegun’s replacement.

The APC in the general time-table which was seen by InsideStory set all the Saturdays between April 7th and May 15th for Wards, Local Government Areas and States congresses to produce the party’s delegates.

The timetable further read that the National and States Assemblies primaries would hold as from September 15th to 20th, while the governorship primaries would hold two days after.

The primaries for the Ekiti and Osun States gubernatorial elections which would be conducted shortly before the general elections in 2019 were scheduled for May 25th and July 7th respectively.
