Kogi APC Grassroots Mobilisation: Ododo Targets 100% Victory »

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed political appointees across the state to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) targeting a 100 per cent victory in the state.

Ododo gave the directive on Tuesday during a strategic meeting with political office holders at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja, where he stressed the need for greater coordination, unity and direct engagement with the electorate.

The governor said securing the confidence of voters should not be left to a few individuals, urging every political appointee to regard grassroots mobilisation as a collective responsibility.

He directed the appointees to return to their respective constituencies, reconnect with their people and engage community leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders.

Ododo also tasked them with listening to the concerns of residents and communicating the policies and programmes of both the Kogi State Government and the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The governor said government achievements should not remain confined to official documents or government offices but must be communicated directly to the people.

He urged the appointees to remain accessible, responsive and politically active in their constituencies, stressing that sustained grassroots engagement, trust and effective mobilisation would be critical to achieving electoral success.

Ododo further called for unity among APC stakeholders in the state, saying the party’s strength depended on its ability to speak with one voice and mobilise effectively across communities.

He warned against complacency and political drama, describing the period ahead as one requiring serious engagement, strategic planning and action.

The governor therefore directed the appointees to intensify their mobilisation efforts and ensure that no community, ward or constituency was left behind.

Beyond political mobilisation, Ododo disclosed plans for a major employment initiative expected to create opportunities for thousands of Kogites.

He referenced plans involving more than 12,000 opportunities, indicating that his administration was also focused on expanding access to employment and empowering citizens.

The strategic meeting, according to the governor, was a reaffirmation of his administration’s determination to deploy the state’s political structure towards securing what he described as an unprecedented 100 per cent APC victory in Kogi State in 2027.

He also linked the mobilisation effort to the need to ensure that residents feel the impact of government through employment, empowerment and other development initiatives.
