Kogi LGA APC executive/stakeholders unite to return Gov Bello in November

Members of Executive of the ruling All Progressives Congress have united and harmonised their resolve to ensure the re – election of Governor Yahaya Bello for another term in this month’s party primaries and November Governorship polls.

Their unification was hatched by the party’s leader in the Local Government, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu (SAS) which culminated in a roundtable meeting with all stakeholders and party executives at his residence in Kotonkarfe.

He told them that it was time for the party to put its acts together and shun selfishness in the interest of APC as the party to beat in the November guber polls for Kogi state.

Hon SAS opined that returning the governor for a second term was not negotiable for whatever reason as he has been able to demonstrate beyond any form of doubts about his capacity to lead the state and commitment to ensure equitable distribution of amenities to all parts of Kogi State.

The APC stalwart who highlighted some of the achievements of the Governor in Kogi Local Government to include provision of electricity, water, road among others, promised to continue to work hard for the return of Governor Bello.

He expressed gratitude to the state government and members of the party’s executive in the area for listening to his call for peace among them and prayed for it to be to the progress of the party, its members and the state in general.

On his part, the administrator of the council, Hon Muhammad Musa Tanko said beyond electricity provision, water and others, Governor Yahaya Bello has also given a sense of belonging to the people of Kogi LGA as he has empowered many citizens of the area.

On his part, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja said of Governor Bello that rather than enrich himself by investing in hotels and other businesses with the money of Kogi State as was the case under previous administrations, he is investing in infrastructure in all parts of the state including Kogi LGA.

He told them to look critically and play it smart because other aspirants were ready to entice them in this period using all tactics because the primary is near, and urged them to remain behind the Governor who has fulfilled his promises since assumption of office.

Hon Onoja reminded them of the past records in the area concerning the security situation where kidnapping and armed robberies were norms on the Kotonkarfe – Abuja highway, a situation that has been brought under control through the huge investments of the Governor.

He therefore urged them to ensure they remianed steadfast in their support for the Governor so as to enjoy better dividends of democracy.

In their separate remarks, APC governorship aspirant, Comrade Amade Edime; the APC women leader for the area, Hajiya Mariam Suleiman; the Local Government treasurer, Comrade Abdullahi Yusuf Ohikwura and other stakeholders all restated their commitments towards ensuring the re – election of Governor Bello.
