Former APC gubernatorial aspirant, Engr Bashir Abubakar reacts to appointment into party advisory by Nat’l Secretariat, stresses commitment to party ideals

Former governorship aspirant under the platform of APC in this year’s governorship election in Kogi State, Engr Bashir Abubakar Gegu has said his appointment into the party’s advisory committee was a demonstration that his decision to stay and work for the party was justified.

He said as a Muslim, he had taken everything that came his way on its strides as part of what is destined and is ready to work assiduously to ensure his party continue to win in all elections including the governorship poll billed for November 16.

He made this assertion in Lokoja this morning of Friday while reacting to the letter of appointment in which the party said his recognition was in consideration of his standing and experience as a former aspirant to the APC ticket during the primaries held on the 29th of August.

He said as a democrat and political realist, it was best for him to remain steadfast in his support for the APC and its ideals for the overall development of his immediate Community and the state.

To him, working for the APC was a duty given the numerous achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello and the passion being demonstrated by his chief of staff who doubles as his running mate, Hon Edward Onoja.

Engr Bashir used the occasion to restate his commitment to working round the clock using his structure and other means necessary to ensure overwhelming victory for Governor Bello and Onoja.

He said Kogi is safer in the hands of the Governor considering the level of infrastructural overhauling being witnessed in all parts of the state since the last four years of the administration.

The party in the letter of appointment, thanked him for his show of loyalty to the party before, during and after the last primary elections, stressing that his exemplary conduct since then had reaflirmed his commitment to the APC and her ideals.
