Rely on God because all other things are ‘sinking sands’ – Kogi Dep Gov admonishes

Christians have been advised to rely solely on God as any other thing they depend on are ‘sinking sands’ that will not withstand the test of time.

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja gave the admonition on Wednesday in Idah while declaring open 132nd National Annual Conference of the United Evangelical Church, former Qua Iboe Church.

He said Governor Yahaya Bello is the most Christian friendly Governor in the history of Kogi State, who, in addition to his support to the faith, has ensured the construction of a Chapel in the State Government House for the first time after 28 years of existence.

Chief Onoja noted that Governor Bello has been able to also demonstrate his willingness to be used as a vessel for the progress of the state by ensuring he broke the three barriers to development including ethnicity, religion and class segregation.

He further enjoined Christians to forgive even before they were offended so they could be used by God for exploits as salts of the earth who must allow their fruits to show forth their exemplary nature.

“Buildinging of good roads, improved educational structures, health institutions and other infrastructural upliftment are important, but to dare where many have failed takes uncommon boldness and that is what Governor Yahaya Bello has done in Kogi State.”

He therefore reminded Christians on the need to love people unconditionally as the greatest commandment is to love one’s neighbour as one loves himself.
