Kogi State government assures investors of enabling environment in Solid Minerals sector

Kogi State government has assured investors in the solid mineral sector of its preparedness to provide enabling environment for them at all times.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pharmacist Abdulkarim Muhammad Jamiu Asuku gave the assurances on Friday when he played host to some foreign investors who were in the state to look at possibility of sinking their resources and partnership with the Yahaya Bello administration.

The Chief of Staff said Kogi was safe for all that want to put in their money, saying it was because the administration was determined to woo and get people from within and outside the country to invest in the state that it is putting in place necessary infrastructure that would aid return on every cent put into the state.

He said the vision of the Governor to make the state solid mineral capital of Nigeria made him to create the solid mineral and natural resources ministry and applauded the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu for his dogged determination to see to the realisation of government objectives.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Bashir Gegu assured the investors that necessary data were available that shows that the current Kogi State government was making positive headways in the development of solid minerals sector.

He said Governor Yahaya Bello does not do things in half measures, saying that all forms of criminality have been fought, solid foundation have been laid and many sites where resources were hitherto lying fallow have been unearthed for the benefit of the state.

The Commissioner assured them that the state was ready and that Governor Bello is determined to leave the state better than he met it, as they are ready to pressure him into taking up national assignment as President of Nigeria in 2023.

In their separate remarks, the Managing Director of MDW, Lovol Mustapha Alfara and the Managing Director of Kofi Solid Minerals Processing Company Limited, Engr Muhammed Lawal expressed satisfaction with what they have seen and heard, and assured of their preparedness to partner the state for a sustainable development of Solid Minerals.
