Kogi Governor Restates Commitment To Providing Affordable Health Care, Commissions Takete-Ide PHC
The Kogi State Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello has reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing the health of the people of Kogi State by repositioning primary health care centers (PHC) across the state for effective service delivery.
The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Mohammad Jamiu said this during the commissioning of the Takete-Ide Primary Health Care Center (PHC) in the Mopa-Muro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The Primary Health Care Center (PHC) was built by the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo through his foundation Kingsley Fanwo Foundation.
Pharm. Asuku speaking on behalf of the Governor, said he was delighted to commission the Primary Health Care Center which will not only serve Takete-Ide but all communities in the local government area, saving them the hassle of always traveling far when they have health emergencies.
The Chief of Staff particularly praised the efforts of the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo in ensuring that such a project was completed in record time and for being a good ambassador of the administration of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello who has given all those in his cabinet enabling environment to have a real impact in their immediate communities.
“Since 2016, no commissioner has single-handedly done a project like this. This is very commendable. We must appreciate him, support him and encourage him to do more” he said.
He also pointed out that the PHC is for the use of the general public irrespective of their political affiliation, class, gender, or religion.
Pharm. Asuku said that since assumption into office, Governor Yahaya Bello has made affordable healthcare one of his priorities through policymaking and actions.
The Chief of Staff, while assuring the community of the Governor’s continuous support, he donated a sum of N2million through his Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF) to the Kingsley Fanwo Foundation to do more for his people.
He noted that as a health practitioner he knows the importance of such facility and assistance to those who need it the most citing that Governor Yahaya Bello has put him in a position to be able to help those who need it and give back to society.
The Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, in his remarks, appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for supporting him to actualize the project, honoring his invitation and allowing him to serve the people. He also appreciated the Chief of Staff for his support and encouragement.
