“Let spirit of sacrifice guide your conducts” – Dr Ottah to christians on 2021 Easter Celebration
The Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Education, Science and Technology, Dr Gabriel Ottah has enjoined Christians in the state to allow the true spirit of Easter Celebration, which he said is the ultimate sacrifice, to guide them in their daily conducts going forward.
He said it was this sacrifice that has shown the true spirit of the Christian faith as exemplified by Jesus Christ when he allowed for his death on the Cross of Calvary and his resurrection on the third day to show the mightiness of His Father – the Almighty God.
This was part of his response when he fielded question from journalists in reaction to 2021 Easter Celebration at the state capital, Lokoja.
The Mass Communication don, who said as the son of God, Jesus could have protected himself and prevented his nailing on the cross, mentioned that he allowed it and even prayed His Father to forgive his accusers to demonstrate the true spirit of Christianity.
Dr Ottah, who used the occasion to enjoin believers to continue to pray for the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, said the state and the country need prayers to turn things around for the better, noting that it was only God that could give leaders necessary insight to continue to evolve policies for the good of society.
He further urged leaders of the faith not to relent in their intercessory pleas on behalf of the country, and expressed confidence in the ability of the current administration to improve the lives of citizens.
Dr Ottah used the occasion to thank Governor Yahaya Bello for providing purposeful leadership for the state as demonstrated in the equitable manner he provides social amenities, noted that the country would be better with youthful, useful and pragmatic leaders like him in the next dispensation.
