‘No criminal should be allowed into our territory’, Hon. Friday charges security agencies

In a move to strengthen the security architecture of the local government to effectively combat crimes and criminalities, the Chairman of Olamaboro Local Government Area in Kogi State, Nicodemus Friday, has charged security agencies, traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders on synergy to effectively secure the area.

The Chairman gave this charge as he presides over the local government peace, security & strategic meeting held at the council hall of the local government Secretariat in Okpo on Thursday, 29th April.

Present at the meeting were the Divisional Police Officer of Olamaboro local government, Bamidele Tawose CSP; DSS Boss, Mr. L. Jegede, the Ejeh of Olamaboro & Chairman Olamaboro traditional Council, HRH Chief Simon Ujah, amongst others.

The Chairman appreciated the security agencies for their efforts in curtailing insecurities in the area and also acknowledged the efforts of the Royal fathers for their cooperation with the security agencies and the government in the fight against insecurities.

He urged the security agencies to brace up with the challenges of their responsibilities in light of the heightened security challenges across the country. He said Governor Yahaya Bello has invested a lot into security, noting that as representatives of the people at the grassroots, the onus is on them to complement the efforts of the Governor by ensuring that criminals do not penetrate into the state through their areas.

“You are advised to mount check points at all our boundaries with other states & local governments in order to ensure crime-free environment. We must be watchful & vigilant now that the country is facing serious security challenges, none of the marauding criminals should be allowed into our territory”. Hon. Adejoh added.

Stakeholders at the meeting pledged their commitments to sustaining the peaceful status of the local government in particular and the state in general.
