PAAYEF seeks excellent performance among Kogi secondary school students

…as KGSG flag off Quiz competition, urge Public Private partnership in edu. Concern

The Pharmacist Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation on Saturday flagged off its Quiz/Essay competition for Secondary Schools in Kogi State which is geared towards rejuvenating the essence of education and students mentorship as reflected in its theme “reviving the glory of education”

The flag off was conducted by the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones on behalf of the State Government, where he charged Public, Private spirited individuals and organization to join hands in funding the Educational Sector as it could no longer be left in the hands of Government alone.

The first event of the quiz/debate competition held in Anyigba while other competitions would subsequently hold across the three senatorial zones, which are, East, Central and West and final selection for the grand finale to be hosted in the state capital, Lokoja.

The Commissioner for Education in his remarks noted that PAAYEF, a non-governmental organization was dedicated to the education and empowerment of Kogi State Children, Youths and women commended the foundation for once again coming out with a way to not only improve but positively impact the lives of indigent teens through it’s educational outreach program.

According to the Education Commissioner, PAAYEF’s education arm was specifically geared towards facilitating access to high-quality education opportunities for students across Kogi State, payment of tuition fees, WAEC fees for the less privileged and grants for various professional development noting that Government can no longer do it alone.

The foundation’s educational arm Hon. Jones said aimed at providing students with the support and tools they need to have successful academic pursuits and prove for themselves and the society at large, so that they can excel irrespective of gender, religion, and economic status, commended the present administration for making education a priority in the State.

The Commissioner explained that under the present administration, Education has enjoyed the highest budgetary provision, insisting that it is likely to hit the 30% target in 2022.
