Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their victory over the Sudanese team in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2022 games.

The first half of the game ended with a 2-1 lead after two superb goals from the Eagles’ Samuel Chukwueze and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Just one minute into the second 45 minutes, Moses Simon scored the third goal, ensuring that the Eagles sealed its leadership of Group D despite the goal from the Sudanese team.
With the latest victory, the Super Eagles have secured a slot in the second round of the game with 6 points.

But the Kogi Governor, who stood while watching the match, charged the Super Eagles to claim the maximum 9 points in the group stage despite their qualification for the round of 16.

“We deserve the trophy and we can do this unbeaten. We have the best team in the tournament and I’m confident that our performance will not prove otherwise. For the group stage, we have made a statement and we can get all the 9 points!” said Governor Bello.
