Kogi poly women in leadership confers award of recognition on Rector
…describes him as an astute administrator
A cross section of women in strategic administrative position in Kogi state Polytechnic have conferred an award of honour on the institutions Rector, Dr. Usman Ogbo in recognition of his role in giving women leadership platform.
In her address on behalf of the Women, The Dean, School of General Studies, Mrs. Balagbogbo acknowledged that women under the leadership of Dr. Usman Ogbo have enjoyed active and first of its kind administrative roles in several capacity within the polytechnic.
She said this role cuts across Deans, Deputy Registrars, Heads of Department, Public Relations Officer and several key roles adding that he has brought women to the mainstream in the institution’s administration.
The Dean noted that the Rector’s administration has proven that indeed women could perform excellently in any given assignment, asserting that the Polytechnic boss was modeling his women inclusive policy after Governor Yahaya Bello.
Dr. Ogbo in his remarks appreciated the women for the recognition conferred on him, noting that he was excited that the women were proven themselves worthy of the several positions they have been entrusted with
He asserted that he could not take away the role of his mother in his education which has given her the opportunity to attain the height he has; hence he would always have great respect for women.
The Rector similarly thanked the women for their recognition of the strides made under his leadership, asserting that everything they have done was a collective responsibility; hence the glory goes to all of them.
In her remarks, the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs. Omolola Muhammed Audu thanked Dr. Ogbo for identifying and believing in women recalling that the Rector had always encouraged them in their respective leadership roles and motivated possibilities in their hearts.
She assured that they would continue to be loyal to the Rector’s leadership, give him the needed support and continually pray for the success of his leadership.
