Education minister commends GYB over positive changes recorded in Kogi
Minister of state for Education, Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah has commended Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello over the numerous positive changes the state has recorded under his leadership.
He noted that he was acquainted with how the state was and his current experience presents a positively different state particularly in areas of infrastructures.
The Minister who was received on a courtesy visit in the governor’s office on friday informed that, his delegation was on a working visit to the state over issues of educational institution.
He recalled the governor’s role at the All Progressive Congress primaries while lauding his courage and vision, adding that the governor’s address was heartfelt and passionate. The minister pointed out that governor Bello took the outcome in the spirit sportsmanship and as a true party loyalist.
Governor Bello welcomed the minister to the state, while he also thanked him for the kind words and encouragement.
The governor expressed that his administration has made tremendous strides in uplifting the education sector right from the basic primary to higher institution of learning, noting that the state recently established the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara with a stern focus of nurturing students to be globally competitive.
Commenting of the prolonged ASUU/FG impasse the governor urged for a quick resolution in a bid to return students back to class, opining that time lost would further lead to concerns of half baked and unemployable graduates from our various institutions.
He assured the minister and the delegation of their safety while on their assignment while urging to take a tour of some of the remarkable projects of his administration.
