Kogi CoS, Pharm. Asuku reacts to calls to contest 2023 governorship
The Chief of Staff to Kogi State governor, Pharmacist Abdulkareem Jamiu Asuku has described as unnecessary, the calls on him to run in the 2023 governorship contest in the state.
Pharm. Asuku made this statement earlier during the graduation ceremony of youths trained by PAAYEF across the 21 local government areas of the state in fashion designing.
He said he ignored the trend which started on social media but had to speak up when he noticed that it was taken offline, stressing that they were without his knowledge and approval.
The Chief of Staff said as a loyal lieutenant of governor Yahaya Bello and an ardent believer in the ‘system’ of the New Direction administration he had to call for caution.
“His Excellency is a leader and he will be the one to make the best decision that would be good for the people of Kogi state and beyond at the right time.
“We’ve had our party’s primary elections and we have candidates across board, and would soon go into open campaign. Kogi APC recorded over 90% victory in the last election, so I plead with the public, channel the energy used to print posters without my knowledge to supporting candidates of APC across board. That is the best way to show love to me if truly the love is genuine”, he said.
