Supreme Court Judgement Ends Distractions to Governance, Says Joel Salifu

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, has declared that the victory of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Supreme Court marks the end of distraction to governance in the state.

Speaking to a large crowd during a celebration at the Government House in Lokoja, the state capital, on Friday, Deputy Governor Salifu expressed that the mandate given by the people of Kogi has been affirmed by the highest court in the country. He emphasized that the judgement has put an end to legal disputes and distractions in governance, emphasizing that it is time to focus on moving the state forward.

Describing Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as a blessing to the people of Kogi State, Salifu stated that the current administration is a divine intervention. He expressed gratitude to the people for their continued support.

The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to the people of the state, particularly religious leaders, members of the All Progressive Congress, women, and youths, for their prayers and support that led to the victory, acknowledging the Judiciary as the beacon of hope for the people.

Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu emphasized that a new era in political leadership has dawned in Kogi State, expressing confidence that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will deliver the fruits of democracy to the state’s populace.

Earlier in his remarks, Commissioner for Youths and Support Development, Monday Anyebe, congratulated Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu on their victory at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

Anyebe highlighted that with the conclusion of the legal battle, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will now fully focus on governing the state and assured that the youth population will be actively engaged in state affairs.

He commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s effective governance, noting that developmental initiatives in the state are being prioritized to ensure competitiveness with other states nationwide.

The Director General of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, the Accountant of Kogi State Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Tijani Oricha alongside the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Value and Ethics, Sheik Sani Musa, were also present during the celebratory procession in Lokoja, the state capital.
