Eid-ul-Maulud: Governor Ododo Urges Unity, Peace, Prayers

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has extended his goodwill message to the Muslim community and the entire people of Kogi State in celebration of the 2024 Eid-ul-Maulud, which marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). In his message, the Governor stressed the significance of the Prophet’s teachings, emphasizing their enduring impact on humanity, particularly in promoting peace, compassion, and justice.

Governor Ododo described the celebration as a historic occasion that not only holds great importance in the Islamic world but is also recognized globally for its profound influence. He expressed pride in Kogi State’s rich diversity, acknowledging the blend of tribes, religions, and backgrounds that make up the state’s population. The Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to unity, fairness, and inclusion, assuring that no one would be marginalized based on age, creed, or tribe.

“As a state, we are building an environment where every citizen is empowered and feels included,” Governor Ododo stated. He called on Kogites to continue supporting his administration as it works to uphold equity, fairness, and constitutionalism in governance.

The Governor also used the occasion to solicit prayers for the President of Nigeria, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his administration, urging Nigerians to support the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” aimed at fostering national growth. Furthermore, he requested prayers for leaders at all levels, including himself, for wisdom and dedication to lead with selflessness and service.

Governor Ododo prayed for Nigeria’s security, unity, prosperity, and peace, wishing everyone a blessed Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
