16 Days Activism on GBV: Kogi First Lady Hosts “No Woman No Nation” (NWNN) Executives

The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, has graciously hosted the No Woman No Nation (NWNN) Group , Kogi State, as parts of activities to end the 16 days activism against gender based violence.
The meeting, aimed at strategizing for the upcoming state Executives Inauguration and introducing the aims and objectives of the No Woman No Nation forum, proved to be a momentous occasion.
During the visitation, the First Lady expressed her overwhelming support for the vision and mission of the NWNN. She committed to collaborating with the organization, reaffirming her dedication to advancing the causes championed by the organization.
The First Lady committed to confirming the date for the upcoming State Executive Inauguration after consulting with her husband, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and pledged to attend the event personally.
Mrs Ododo further promised to facilitate empowerment initiatives for the organization from both national and state levels, reinforcing the motto of NWNN: “Better Nigeria is our focus; Better Kogi is our pride.”
Ambassador Nurse Aturu Christy JP, the State Chairperson/Coordinator, expressed her profound gratitude to the First Lady for her support and also to the National Chairman and Director General of NWNN, Ambassador Prince Akintola Oluwasayo Julius, for his guidance and encouragement.
As preparations for the inauguration slated for February 2025 take shape, Ambassador Christy called for the NWNN Kogi State Executives to come together in a brief meeting to discuss logistics and others matters.
“We must prepare diligently for the upcoming events and continue our mission to uplift women and communities in Kogi State and beyond,” said Ambassador Christy.
