Kogi State Polytechnic Mourns Former Registrar, Mr. Mathew Enejoh Ocholi

The management and academic community of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, have been thrown into mourning following the passing of their former Registrar, Mr. Mathew Enejoh Ocholi, who served the institution from 2018 to 2020. Mr. Ocholi passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, after a brief illness.
In a statement signed by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu O. Usman, the institution expressed its heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, kinsmen, associates, and the people of Agbokete, Akpanya, in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, where the late Ocholi hailed from.
Describing Mr. Ocholi as a “diligent, selfless, and intelligent public servant,” Prof. Usman highlighted his immense contributions to the Polytechnic and humanity at large. “The entire Polytechnic community is in deep shock and sorrow over the sudden demise of such a remarkable individual who gave his all to our institution,” the Rector stated.
While acknowledging the void left by Mr. Ocholi’s departure, the statement also noted his impressive legacy of professionalism and resourcefulness during his tenure as Registrar.
The Polytechnic community prayed for divine strength and fortitude for the bereaved family and all those affected by the loss. “May God, in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest,” the Rector concluded.
Mr. Mathew Enejoh Ocholi will be remembered for his dedication and outstanding service to Kogi State Polytechnic.
