Gov Ododo’s Aide Commends Ijumu LGA Chairman for Proactive Measures Against Insecurity

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State on Fraud and Internet Matters, Hon. Eleta Oluseyi Kelvin, has commended the Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, for taking decisive steps to enhance security in the region. He emphasized that the chairman’s commitment to protecting lives and livelihoods is a significant contribution to the overall stability of the area.

Hon. Eleta particularly lauded the closure of Zango Market along Iyara Road, describing it as a necessary action to curb criminal activities. He noted that for years, the market had become a hideout for kidnappers and other criminal elements, posing a serious threat to residents and travelers. According to him, shutting down such a hotspot for illegal activities demonstrates strong leadership and a clear resolve to make the local government safer.

He also highlighted the chairman’s efforts in securing border communities, stressing that prioritizing these areas is essential in preventing cross-border crimes and ensuring that criminals find no refuge within Ijumu LGA.

Hon. Eleta urged Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna to remain steadfast in his approach to combating insecurity, noting that his actions complement the vision of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. He assured the chairman of continued support from the state government in strengthening security initiatives that protect the people and promote economic stability.
