Zonal Security Adviser Takes Gov Ododo’s Community Security Initiative to Enjema District

The Zonal Security Adviser for the Ankpa Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, has extended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s Community Security and Public Awareness Engagement Initiative to Enjema District in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The engagement, held at the Enjema Town Hall, brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including traditional rulers, youth and women groups, religious leaders, and members of the local vigilante corps. The outreach is part of a wider effort to deepen grassroots security collaboration and public sensitization across Kogi East.

In his remarks, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed commended Governor Ododo for his proactive approach to community-driven security and his commitment to bridging the communication gap between local communities and government institutions.

“We are here to advance Governor Ododo’s vision for community-based security. Enjema, like other districts in the state, is a vital part of our collective security framework. This initiative is about equipping communities to take ownership of their safety through vigilance, cooperation, and intelligence sharing,” he said.

The Zonal Security Adviser also urged local vigilante groups and traditional institutions to strengthen their partnership with formal security agencies, particularly in the areas of intelligence gathering and early warning systems.

The event featured an interactive session during which residents shared local intelligence, voiced security concerns, and provided updates on suspicious activities, especially in border areas known for criminal hideouts.

“This visit brings a renewed sense of hope to our people,” Hon. Mohammed noted. “Enjema District has long needed this level of engagement, and we are fully prepared to contribute to the state’s broader security objectives.”

Security experts and representatives of civil society organizations in attendance lauded the initiative, describing it as a replicable model for grassroots security management in Nigeria’s evolving security environment.
