Esther Abejide Visits Kogi First Lady, Pledges Support for Women’s Economic Empowerment
Chief Mrs Esther Abejide, wife of the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, has paid a courtesy visit to the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo, reaffirming her commitment to the empowerment and advancement of women and children across the state.
During the visit, Chief Mrs Abejide expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her support for women and vulnerable groups in Kogi State, as well as her commitment to improving the welfare of citizens through impactful humanitarian initiatives.
She commended the compassionate leadership of Governor Usman Ododo and the First Lady, particularly their efforts in promoting programmes and interventions aimed at empowering women, supporting children, and improving the lives of vulnerable members of society.
Chief Mrs Abejide said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and exploring ways to enhance women’s participation in development, while advancing initiatives that would promote their economic empowerment and social inclusion.
She also expressed her readiness to support the current administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) through greater women’s participation and inclusion in governance and community development.
Responding, Hajia Sefinat Ododo described Chief Mrs Abejide’s visit as a demonstration of sincerity, commitment, friendship, and togetherness.
The First Lady expressed optimism that their joint efforts would produce greater results in reaching and empowering more women across Kogi State.
“Our joint efforts to reach out to more women across Kogi State will yield more results. I know you are committed to women and youth development,” she said.
