“Provide More Tractors To Lokoja Farmers” – Lokoja LG Chair Appeal To Ministry of Agric
The Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has appealed to the Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Timothy Ojomah to make available more tractors for farmers in Lokoja Local Government Area.
The Chairman made the plea while delivering his address during the commissioning of tractors and other quipment donated by the Kogi State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project coordinating office.
“His Excellency Alhaji Ahmad Usman Ododo has done a lot in the area of agriculture especially in procurement of equipment, seeds, fertilizers and agro-chemicals. Before now, most of our tractors are found outside the state but the coming of Gov. Ododo has changed all that, our tractors are now deployed within the state, working for us.”
“Lokoja II where I come from is largely agrarian community. I want to use this medium to appeal to the Honorable Commissioner to make these tractors available for our farmers in Lokoja Local Government.”
Comrade Adamu commends the Kogi ACReSAL Project Coordinator, Barrister Ladi Ahmdd Jatto for delivery yet again. It is a strategic intervention that will ensure both of the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security achieve operational efficiency and productivity, he added.
The equipment commissioned by the Kogi State ACReSAL includes heavy and earth moving Land Restoration, and Waste Management Equipment such as Swamp Buggy, Low Bed, Tractors, Tricycles, Waste Receptacle Bin.
