Kogi Govt Honors Babajide Otitoju at 60, Praises Impact on Journalism

The Kogi State Government has joined well-wishers across the country in celebrating veteran journalist, Babajide Otitoju, on the occasion of his 60th birthday, describing him as a symbol of professionalism and integrity in Nigeria’s media industry.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo on Saturday, the state government commended Otitoju’s outstanding contributions to journalism, noting that his decades-long career has been marked by fearless reporting, incisive analysis, and a strong commitment to truth and public accountability.

The statement highlighted that the media veteran’s work has played a significant role in strengthening democracy, promoting transparency, and amplifying the voices of Nigerians, adding that his achievements reflect a culture of excellence and dedication.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, in his tribute, described Otitoju as “a shining example of professionalism, courage, and integrity in the Nigerian media space.”
According to the governor, even at 60, the broadcaster remains a towering figure whose influence has continued to shape public discourse and inspire millions across the country.

He further praised Otitoju’s resilience, consistency, and dedication to ethical journalism, noting that his career serves as a benchmark for younger generations in the profession.

The government wished the celebrant continued good health, greater accomplishments, and many more years of impactful service to the nation.
