Ododo Mourns Prominent Community Leader, Adai Ahmed Obeito »

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of a respected community leader, Alhaji Adai Ahmed Obeito, describing his passing as a significant loss to the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the governor paid tribute to the late elder, whom he described as a strong political voice and a unifying figure in his community.

Ododo noted that Obeito devoted his life to the service of his people, using his wisdom, experience, and influence to promote peace, strengthen communal ties, and mentor younger generations toward responsible leadership.

“Alhaji Adai Ahmed Obeito was more than a leader; he was a bridge builder, a man whose voice carried weight not because of volume, but because of truth, experience, and sincerity. His contributions to community development and political engagement will not be forgotten,” the governor said.

He added that the deceased’s passing is not only a loss to his immediate community but also to Adavi Local Government Area, Kogi Central Senatorial District, and the state at large, noting that his counsel played a crucial role in shaping positive outcomes during critical moments.

The governor further described Obeito as part of a rare generation of leaders who prioritised community interest above personal gain, consistently standing for justice, fairness, and collective progress.
Ododo urged community members and political stakeholders to honour the memory of the late leader by upholding the values he stood for, including peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and unity.

He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased and asked God to grant his family, associates, and the wider community the strength to bear the loss.
