The Kogi Anti-Internet Fraud Campaign Team earlier today paid a working visit to the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor on Youth and Students Matters, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, to formally brief him on the ongoing sensitization campaign across the state.
During the meeting, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Fraud and Internet Matters, Hon. Oluseyi Kelvin Eleta, gave an overview of the campaign. He explained its purpose and stressed the need for urgent and deliberate action to address the rise of internet fraud, especially among young people in Kogi State. He noted that beyond enforcement, there is a need for sustained public education and value reorientation.
Also speaking, Hon. Clement Daudu called for the support of the Special Adviser, particularly in mobilizing young people and ensuring his presence at the official flag-off of the campaign. He added that collaboration with key offices would strengthen the reach and impact of the initiative.
In his response, Hon. Oladele John Nihi commended the effort of the campaign team. He described internet fraud as a social problem that has affected many families and communities. He expressed satisfaction that the government is taking steps to confront the issue. He also shared practical suggestions on areas the team could focus on, especially in engaging young people at the grassroots level, and assured the team of his continued support.
The meeting also highlighted the need for closer collaboration with Hon. Oladele John Nihi, given his connection to youth groups, the hospitality space, and civil society engagement through the Oladele John Nihi Foundation.
