Ododo Celebrates Prince Sola Akanmode at 76, Hails His Service to Kogi
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated former Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Prince Olusola Akanmode, on his 76th birthday, describing him as an exceptional statesman whose contributions to public service have made the state proud.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by him on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Ododo praised Akanmode’s contributions to governance and national development, saying his career reflected a longstanding commitment to serving the people.
The governor described the former Kogi SSG and ex-Deputy Chief of Staff to the President as a man of exceptional intellect, administrative depth and sound judgment.
According to Ododo, Akanmode’s service in Kogi State and at the federal level placed him at important moments in the political and administrative history of both the state and Nigeria.
He also noted that beyond the offices he had occupied, the former government official had remained a respected elder and source of counsel to leaders.
“Prince Olusola Akanmode is a brilliant Prince, an exceptional statesman and a proud son of Kogi who has distinguished himself and made our state proud on many fronts,” Ododo said.
The governor said he had personally benefited from Akanmode’s advice and experience in governance and statecraft.
“He has been a solid guide to me personally, always willing to offer his advice, wisdom and the benefit of his extensive experience in governance and statecraft,” he said.
Ododo added that Akanmode’s contribution to public service should not be measured only by the positions he had held, but also by the guidance and experience he continued to provide to those in leadership.
“His contribution to public service is not measured only by the positions he has held, but also by the wisdom he has continued to share and the leaders he has continued to guide. That is the mark of a true statesman,” the governor said.
The governor further commended Akanmode for his continued interest in the affairs of Kogi State and his willingness to provide counsel whenever called upon.
“At 76, we celebrate a life of remarkable service, intellectual excellence, leadership and commitment to the progress of our dear state and country,” Ododo said.
He described Akanmode as an important repository of experience and wisdom, adding that Kogi State was proud to have him as one of its own.
Ododo, on behalf of his family, the Kogi State Government and the people of the state, wished the celebrant many more years of good health, peace, happiness and fulfilment.
He also prayed for continued strength and wisdom for Akanmode to enable him contribute further to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
